Live Talk: Chile: Land of Big Skies, Big Scopes & Big Data
Event Information
Chile’s unique geography has made it one of the most attractive places in the world to build observatories. By 2022, seventy-percent of all the optical and infrared collecting power in the world will be located in Chile. The Astronomy in Chile Educator Ambassadors Program (ACEAP) is supported by the National Science Foundation and gives amateur astronomers, observatory and planetarium professionals, K-16 teachers, and informal astronomy educators an opportunity to visit U.S. funded facilities in Chile. A spinoff from the program will release a new fulldome film Big Astronomy: People, Places, Discoveries later this year. Join us to learn more about astronomy in Chile and how the ACEAP program is sharing big science with audiences across the globe.
Regular ticket prices apply. Groupons can be used too!
