AirAligned Aerial Dance Group was formed in 2002 by Artistic Director Tresa Honaker. Unlike traditional circus performers AirAligned members consist of  formally trained dancers. AirAligned is a theatrical aerial dance group. Productions are beautifully choreographed and athletically executed. The group has received additional training in the aerial arts from Ingrid Hoffman, Hollywood Aerial Arts and Cirque LA in Los Angeles, Trapeze Arts in Oakland and San Francisco Circus Center.  www.airaligned.org

Sherrie Martin, the 60 Year-Old-Gymnast and Realtor performs from her show, F*!%# 'lympics.  A Realtor in “real life,” Sherrie has been trying to make the Olympic team for many years, actually since Gerald Ford was President.  She will do anything to get picked.  In F*!%# 'lympics, Sherrie makes her best and final attempt to represent in 2020.  You won’t want to miss this!  Sherrie performed, “I Will Sell This House Today,” at the Bing Crosby Theater in 2017 with Sammy Eubanks.

About the performers:

Tresa Honaker has been dancing the majority of her life and last year was recognized by the Performing Arts Department of RHS receiving a Legacy Award for her contributions to the artistry of dance, especially for influencing so many students along the way. Tresa has also taught 2 aerial dance retreats at Kalani Ocean Side Retreat on the Big Island of Hawaii. — the second retreat just 3 months after her accident.

Tresa was injured during an aerial rehearsal. She has a T9 SCI injury from a 15’ fall and is currently paralyzed from the waist down. Tresa however continues to choreograph and perform throughout the United States for Corporate, Private and Commercial events. As director of AirAligned, she has collaborated with Revolutions Dance Company out of Tampa Florida, AXIS Dance out of Oakland and Wai Dance Company from Hawaii.

She is also one of a handful of artists selected to live at Warehouse Artist Lofts in Sacramento and in 2015 spoke at TEDX finishing her talk performing on aerial net high above The Community Center Theater in downtown Sacramento. Tresa received a standing ovation that day and is now receiving many requests to present aerial work and classes worldwide.

Sherrie Martin is a Realtor, physical comedian, grandma, gymnast, and circus gym owner.  She performs her one-woman physical theater comedy shows around the country.  Back in middle school, Sherrie was unstoppable often watching gymnastics on TV and bringing ideas of daring moves to try with her PE teacher/coach with the school custodian spotting.  At 60, it’s much of the same except in a body that 48 years older.  And she doesn’t use a custodian for a spotter.
