Festival Chorale Oregon

November 19, 2017 - Handel's Messiah (Part 1)
Salem area audiences have the rare opportunity to hear Händel's well-known Messiah oratorio in its entirety during Festival Chorale Oregon’s 39th season. The complete work, which tells the story of the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, takes about 3 hours to perform.  To spare our audience such a marathon concert, we are dividing the work into two concerts.  Part 1 focuses on the prophecy and birth of Christ, known as the messiah.  The 100-voice chorale will be joined by four professional soloists and a baroque orchestra, under the baton of Dr. Solveig Holmquist.

December 17, 2017 - Sing We Now of Christmas
10th Annual Holiday Celebration with the Festival Carolers Celebrate the Holiday Season with traditional carols performed by a select ensemble of Festival Chorale Oregon, the Festival Carolers, dressed in Victorian costume.  Enjoy audience sing-along carols and a special story for children, with familiar Christmas songs you remember from bygone years. Saint Nicholas will be in the lobby for free photo opportunities, and each guest receives a treat bag. This event has become a beloved family tradition for many, a lovely time for smiling and setting stress aside. (Children 12 & under are free)
