Up to 1,000 cats will stroll into the Portland Expo Center for the largest cat show in the United States — the CFA International Cat Show, presented by Royal Canin. Cats, exhibitors, judges and vendors will travel from around the U.S., Europe and Asia for the international competition. The show takes place November 18 from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., and 19, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., at the Portland Expo Center. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Cat Adoption Team, the Pacific Northwest’s largest nonprofit, adoption guarantee cat shelter.
Some of the show’s highlights include:
Moshow “The Cat Rapper”: Community icon, Moshow “The Cat Rapper,” will perform on both Saturday and Sunday. A meet-and-greet with the local celebrity will follow each performance.
Kitty Korral: Head into the Kitty Korral for the opportunity to pet and play with show cats competing for glory. Get your paws ready for some petting and take a few selfies!
Agility and Education Rings: In the Agility Ring, spectators can witness real feline athleticism by watching show cats maneuver through a timed obstacle course. In the Educational Ring, judges will showcase various breeds, discussing their history, characteristics and personality traits.
Catio Exhibit: The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon and Audubon Society of Portland, creators of the Portland’s Annual Catio Tour will be on hand to provide information about catios – outdoor cat enclosures that offer cats healthy exercise time as well as safety from outdoor hazards.
