Nashville Country Comes to the Bing
Two of Nashville’s most accomplished hit-makers have teamed up to form the country duo, Kelly & Ellis. Casey Kelly and Leslie Ellis, husband and wife, will fuse their greatest hits into a tuneful show at The Bing Crosby Theater on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
Leslie Ellis starred on Broadway in “Cats”, singing the legendary song, “Memory”. She won a Grammy with Celine Dion for the blockbuster hit song “My Heart Will Go On” from “Titanic”. Casey Kelly has toured with Loggins & Messina, The Beach Boys, BB Kiing, and wrote #1 hits: “Anyone Who Isn’t Me Tonight” recorded by Kenny Rogers and Dottie West, “The Cowboy Rides Away” a signature hit for George Strait, and Tanya Tucker’s “Soon”, and he received Grammy nominations for many others. Their debut album as Kelly & Ellis, “The Long Road to You”, has just been released and is climbing the charts all across Europe and the United States.
Opening the night will be two of Spokane’s local musicians who have become Nashville artists as well: Luke Yates and Nick Canger. Luke Yates was born and raised in Spokane and grew up as one of 10 children in the Touring Yates Family. Luke has been in and out of recording studios from Nashville to LA, writing, recording, producing and engineering, working with the best of the best in country music.
Nick Canger, born and raised in Northern Idaho, has just returned home after 8 years in Nashville, finding his niche in country music somewhere between George Strait and Chris Young. Nick also recorded and released an old Tim McGraw song “When She Wakes Up and Finds Me Gone,” which has had great success since its release.
